International delegation assessment policy
All international delegation requests will be assessed against this policy. Please ensure you read the policy carefully before completing an application.
Scope of the policy
This policy applies to all government, private and not-for-profit host organisations seeking a planning-related presentation and/or tour with ACTPLA.
Assessment criteria
- Applications must be received no less than four weeks before the proposed date of the visit.
- The majority of delegation representatives must be senior officials.
- The delegation learning objectives and questions must be outlined in detail and should be able to be addressed in two hours.
- The delegation needs to have a planning and/or governance focus comparable to that of ACTPLA.
- The visit must directly contribute to the development or improvement of planning knowledge in the host state/country.
- The delegation must have made contact with their relevant embassy.
Role of Communications Unit
- Communications will be the initial contact for all delegation requests.
- Communications will examine, assess and recommend outcomes to ACTPLA Executive.
- Communications will link the delegation to the appropriate planning sections (if successful).
Submitting an application and approvals
- All applications must be submitted using the international delegation application form .
- please ensure that you check the information is accurate.
