News and notices is updated throughout the day or when necessary. What's new is updated when a new page is addded or an update is made to the site.

What is an news feed?

News feeds allow you to see when websites have added new content. You can get the latest headlines in one place, as soon as it's published, without having to visit the websites you have taken the feed from.

Feeds are also known as RSS (Really Simple Syndication). They are just web pages designed to be read by computers rather than people.

How do I get a news reader?

To subscribe to an news feed you will need a news reader.  There is a range of different news readers available and new versions are appearing all the time.  Different news readers work on different operating systems, so you will need to choose one that will work with your computer.

Once you have chosen your news reader you can select news feed in a couple of different ways, including:

  • Drag the URL of the news feed into your news reader
  • Cut and paste the URL of the news feed into your news reader

If Internet Explorer 7 is your prefered browser, it automatically detects news feeds. When a news feed is present you should see an RSS feed button RSS icon highlighted in your toolbar.
