  • 23 Oct 2014 - Notice of intention to close part of a public road - Mort Street
    It is intended to close part of the Mort Street road reserve adjacent to Block 27 Section 26 in the Division of City, District of Canberra Central as part of a proposed redevelopment of the site. The closure will facilitate the proposed redevelopment and will not affect existing traffic flow or access to any other leases along Mort Street.

  • 30 Sep 2014 - Bill improves planning and building legislation

    An omnibus bill that makes a number of minor changes to Environment and Planning Directorate legislation has been tabled in the Legislative Assembly by ACT Minister for Planning, Mick Gentleman.

    The Bill makes minor policy, technical and editorial amendments to legislation including requirements for building approvals for work that is considered exempt from requiring development approval.

  • 16 Sep 2014 - Gas safety reform gets the tick of approval
    New laws were passed in the Legislative Assembly today that streamline and improve gas safety regulations in the ACT. The Gas Safety Legislation Amendment Bill 2014 consolidates occupational regulation into the ACT’s Construction Occupations (Licensing) Act. The Bill also streamlines existing legislation for setting safety standards for gas appliances and installations, removes superseded regulations and clarifies important concepts and definitions.
  • 27 Aug 2014 - Infinity electrical cable recall

    The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission has announced a recall of all sizes and configurations of TPS and Orange Round mains power cables sourced from Infinity Cable Co Pty Ltd and supplied under 'INFINITY' and 'OLSENT' brands. More.

  • 18 Aug 2014 - Asbestos removal program - new search process
    Former and current tenants and home owners can now find out if a property they resided in contained loose-fill asbestos and was part of an asbestos removal program. Property owners are also able to find out if their property was part of the program. More


  • 24 Oct 2014 - Technical amendment TA2014-14

    Technical amendment TA2014-14 proposes adjustments to various codes to facilitate improved interpretation of provisions, clarifying the language contained in the Territory Plan, bringing the Territory Plan in line with the National Capital Plan, and correcting any formal errors.
