Pre-application
Check the Territory Plan to see if your proposed development is prohibited, exempt from approval or requires development approval.
If your development requires approval, read an introduction to planning system reform (PDF 215KB) which explains the development application process or information on the relevant track - code track, merit track or impact track.
If you still have further questions, you can seek pre-application information by applying for pre-application written advice, which requires payment of a fee.

Post-development application
If you do not agree with our decision about your application, you may have rights to lodge an application for reconsideration.
