Changes to the Surveyors Act 2007
On 3 March 2010 several changes to the Surveyors Act 2007 came into effect.
These chages mean:
1. The date of annual registration renewal has been postponed for two months to align with NSW. This should significantly assist surveyors with dual registration who pay the one ‘dual’ fee to the Board of Surveying and Spatial Information (BOSSI).
2. The definition of ‘survey’ has been broadened for the purposes of occupation discipline only. This aligns with NSW.
3. The Continuing Professional Development ‘guidelines’ are to be referred to as ‘directions’ given that compliance is mandatory.
4. The title ‘Chief Surveyor’ has been amended to Surveyor-General.
