Gas work
Immediately after completing appliance work, gasfitters are required to inspect and test the appliance to ensure it operates as per manufacturer's instructions and specifications. Gas installations may be inspected.
Compliance certificates
Gasfitters must provide compliance certificates to us on completion of all gasfitting work.
Appliance approval certificates
Type B appliance workers must provide an appliance approval certificate to us on approval of a Type B appliance.

Unsafe appliances
Gasfitters must also notify us of any unsafe appliances and defect tags. If a gasfitter inspects and tests an appliance and concludes the appliance is unsafe, they must immediately take action in accordance with their safety responsibilities.
Inspections and monitoring
The ACT Planning and Land Authority may inspect gas installations. It also regulates aspects of the ongoing supply, construction and maintenance of the ACT gas infrastructure within acceptable standards.
