Canberra 2030 competition
Your city
Your vision for 2030
How you would live, work, travel and play in Canberra.
The Your city your vision 2030 competition for school students was a way for young people to tell the ACT Government how school students want their city to look in 2030. It was part of the evaluation of the Canberra Spatial Plan – which reflects what we want Canberra to be in the future.
Students were asked to show their vision for a sustainable Canberra in 2030, including:
- How land is used efficiently for housing, green space, commercial, industrial uses
- Sustainable use of resources such as energy and water
- What suburbs look like
- How people travel around the city
Entries were written and visual – stories, essays, poems, paintings, drawings, models, websites, maps and photos.
Winners were announced by the Minister for Planning, Andrew Barr MLA, on 20 October 2010.
