Planning and Development Forum
The Planning and Development Forum provides strategic comment on planning and development policy to the ACT Government and the Environment and Sustainable Development Directorate.
Role and responsibilities
The forum was established to work cooperatively with the Directorate and to provide timely and integrated input to a range of planning and development issues, such as master plans for town, group and local centres, and community facility needs assessment.
The forum meets bi-monthly and is chaired by the Director-General.
Membership
The membership of the Forum is the following:
- the Director-General (Chair)
- three representatives from professionals groups – i.e. the Australian Institute of Landscape Architects, the Planning Institute of Australia and the Royal Australian Institute of Architects
- one representative from the Conservation Council of the South East Region and Canberra
- one representative from the ACT Council of Social Service
- one representative from each of the Community Councils – i.e. Gungahlin, Belconnen, North Canberra, Woden Valley, Weston Creek, Inner South Canberra and Tuggeranong
- one representative from the Youth Advisory Council.
